Important Regulations & Guidelines

  • Passport/Travel Document Validity: The Embassy strictly recommends a minimum passport validity of 8 months. While a document with 6 months of validity may technically meet the baseline requirement for an eTA at the time of application, any subsequent travel delays may result in insufficient validity, leading to a denial of entry by immigration clearance authorities.

  • Processing Time: The standard processing window is one (1) week from the date of receipt of a complete application.

  • Submission and Collection Channels: Applicants may submit their eTA dossiers and collect their passports using any of the following methods:

    • In-person at the Embassy

    • Via an authorized agent or legal representative

    • Via postal services

  • Postal Application Payments: For applications submitted by post, a secure Virtual Payment link (supporting Visa Debit/Credit, Mastercard Debit/Credit, and all Maestro cards) will be dispatched to the applicant"s registered email address upon safe receipt of the physical application at the Embassy.

  • Return Postal Requirements: Applicants applying from within the United Kingdom must enclose a self-addressed, prepaid Special Delivery Envelope.

    • Note: Printed digital stamps, online labels, or QR-coded postage slips are strictly prohibited. Only physical, traditional postage stamps are accepted.

Integrity and Anti-Fraud Policy

Official Warning: The Embassy maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward fraudulent documentation. If any submitted document is determined to be counterfeit, forged, or unverifiable, the application will be permanently flagged in the Embassy's consular network. This will result in an immediate rejection of the current request and will prejudice or disqualify all future visa and entry applications to Nepal.
